Mission

The Mission of the Association of New Jersey Orchestras is to provide
a forum for the exchange of information, ideas and resources pertaining
to all aspects of orchestral activities in New Jersey.

History

Founded in 1967, the Association of New Jersey Orchestras was
initially established for the purpose of creating a shared library of
orchestral materials. With grant funds provided by the New Jersey
State Council on the Arts, the association purchased several dozen
sets of scores and parts for works of the standard orchestral repertoire.

ANJerO underwent a reorganization in 1994 with leadership provided
by the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, advice provided by the New
Jersey Theatre Group and funding provided by the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation. Over the next several years, ANJerO began sponsoring
annual conferences with meetings focusing on a wide array of topics
including fundraising, marketing, box office management, educational programming, volunteer activities and board structure and organization.

In January of 2004, anjero.org was established to provide a forum for
the exchange of information and resources pertaining to all aspects of orchestral activities in New Jersey.

Online Courses

In November of 2007, ANJerO began developing a series of online courses in orchestral music topics which will be offered soon through www.musiccoursesonline.org. For further information about these courses, select this link: Online Courses
